A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE LAND DEDICATION
OPTION OF PROFFER 12(A) OF #ZM-159 OAKLAWN AT
STRATFORD
WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of Council to support the provision of increased fire
and rescue services for the citizens of Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, Proffer 12 of the rezoning #ZM-159 Oaklawn at Stratford provides a cash
contribution for fire and rescue services due at the time of zoning permit issuance; and
WHEREAS, Proffer 12 (A) of the rezoning #ZM-159 Oaklawn at Stratford provides
Council with an option to accept a two-acre dedication of land for a future fire and rescue station in
Land Bay D of Oaklawn at Stratford in lieu of the cash contribution specified above; and
WHEREAS, the duly authorized representatives of the Leesburg volunteer fire and rescue
companies serving the area have expressed in writing a preference for the land dedication option for
a new station; and
WHEREAS, the Council expressed a desire for the land dedication option at its meeting on
November 27, 2007 and instructed Keane Enterprises, Inc. to present a two-acre site in accordance
with the intent of Proffer 12 (A) of#ZM-159 Oaklawn at Stratford; and
WHEREAS, Keane Enterprises, Inc. has revised the proposed two-acre site in accordance
with the direction of Council; and
WHEREAS, the representatives of the Leesburg volunteer fire and rescue companies and
the Council find the proposed two-acre site acceptable as a station site.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council ofthe Town of Leesburg in Virginia as

follows: In accordance with the terms of Proffer l2(A) of the rezoning #ZM-159 Oaklawn at
Stratford, the Council hereby exercises it option to direct Keane Enterprises, Inc. to convey to the
Town for fire and rescue purposes a two (2) acre tract of land in Land Bay D of Oaklawn at
Stratford as shown on the plat entitled "Proposed Fire and Rescue Site Area" dated December 12,
2006.
