New Exhibit of Paintings by Jennifer DeAngelo Baxter
Now On Display at Leesburg Town Exhibit Hall
Leesburg, VA (August 10, 2012) – A new exhibit of
paintings by Leesburg resident Jennifer DeAngelo
Baxter is now on display at the Leesburg Town
Exhibit Hall, through November 3, 2012. There will
be an artist’s reception for the new exhibit from 6
pm – 8 pm on Friday, September 7, 2012, as part of
Leesburg’s First Friday celebration of the arts.
Jennifer DeAngelo Baxter graduated from the
University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Fine
Arts, concentration in oil painting in 2006. While a
student at Notre Dame, she studied abroad in Rome,
Italy, where she studied Ancient Roman and
Renaissance art. Currently a Leesburg resident,
Jennifer hopes to continue her art education in the
future by pursuing a Master of Fine Arts.
Jennifer’s current body of work is built on her life
experiences, and the life experiences of those close to her. She often employs the use of found
objects, such as bird eggs, skulls, and nests as symbols throughout her work. She also
incorporates the visual convention of dripping or draining to reference aging and mortality.
Some of her paintings depict rights of passage, while others capture a moment in time.
The Leesburg Town Exhibit Hall was established by the Leesburg Commission on Public Art in
December 2009 to provide a public venue for local artists to display their work. Artists
interested in having their work considered for a future exhibit should contact Nancy Fixx, the
staff liaison to the Leesburg Commission on Public Art, at 703-771-2707 or
nfixx@leesburgva.gov.
