A RESOLUTION:
WAIVING SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT FEES TO SUPPORT THE
LOUDOUN COUNTY 250TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ON
MAY 19,2007.
WHEREAS, the Leesburg & Loudoun Anniversary Committee is promoting the America's 400th
Anniversary and the 250th Anniversary Celebrations for the Town of Lees burg and the County of Loudoun
and;
WHEREAS, the 250th Anniversary Celebrations for the Town and County will include a variety of
events slated to take place throughout 2007 and 2008 and;
WHEREAS, the official Loudoun County 250th Anniversary Celebration will be held May 19,2007
from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in downtown Leesburg and will require the resources of the Engineering and
Public Works Department to support it and;
WHEREAS, the Anniversary Committee has submitted the required Special Event Permit
application to the Town's Special Event Committee and has met with the Special Event Committee to discuss
the upcoming Anniversary Celebration on May 19th and;
WHEREAS, the proposed cost for the Town resources required to support the Anniversary
Celebration, including personnel and equipment from the Engineering and Public Works Department, is
$5,280.00 and;
WHEREAS, the Anniversary Committee is a non-profit organization that is raising funds to host and
promote events to celebrate the Anniversaries of Loudoun County and Leesburg and;
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Town Special Event Committee that the special event
permit fees for this event to be waived by the Town Council to support the Anniversary Celebration and
recognize the economic benefit that will result from the increased tourism opportunities that begin with this
downtown event.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Lees burg in Virginia to support the
Loudoun County 250th Anniversary Celebration May 19,2007 in downtown Leesburg, by waiving the

special event permit fees, up to $5,280.00, to cover the cost of the Town resources required to support the
