A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A DESIGN CHANGE ORDER FOR THE IDA LEE
OUTDOOR POOL PROJECT
WHEREAS, in April 2006, the Town awarded a contract to Smolen Emr + Associates
Architects for $310,500 to provide architectural and engineering services for an outdoor pool; and
WHEREAS, during the concept phase of the contract, the original scope of the project was
determined to be inadequate for Ida Lee; and
WHEREAS, the revised concept scope, including a lazy river with lagoon, a leisure pool with
three lap lanes, play features, spray ground, three slides, and other amenities was approved by the
Parks and Recreation Commission in January 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Capital Projects Management recommends that this design change
order be approved for the work noted.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized to execute change order #1 to the contract with Smolen Emr +
Associates Architects in the amount of$174,505 for providing the additional design and engineering
services for this project.
