A RESOLUTION:
APPROVING A DONATION OF TOWN STAFF RESOURCES AND LOAN OF
TOWN EQUIPMENT TO OUR LOCAL NATIONAL GUARD UNIT
WHEREAS, the local National Guard Unit, a nonprofit, governmental entity based in Leesburg, would
like to conduct a picnic prior to the deployment of troops for National Guard families at a local church; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council proudly supports the men and women who serve our Country, as well as
their families; and
WHEREAS, Town Council desires to donate funds to the National Guard for this event by waiving the
cost of borrowing any Town-owned equipment and staff support of this one-day event.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. Staff is directed to make available assistance to support the National Guard family
event, including cost associated with any staff support for the event, as well as tables, chairs, or tents from
available Town inventory.
SECTION II. The funds for the donation of staff support will be transferred from the Contingency
Fund balance to the appropriate accounts for Engineering and Public Works and Parks and Recreation
budgets under the supervision of the Town Manager.
