A RESOLUTION:
APPROVING BATTLEFIELD P ARKW A Y (KINCAID BOULEVARD TO ROUTE
7) TOWNNDOT ADMINISTRATIVE AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE
TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 99-16 authorized Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to
administer and manage the design and construction of Battlefield Parkway (Kincaid Boulevard to Route 7); and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2007-21 approved a financing plan for the project based on a total VDOT
project estimate; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to approval of that financing plan, VDOT received proposals and selected a
Design-Build contractor; and
WHEREAS, the approved financing plan has been modified based on the bid received from the
selected Design-Build contractor and updated estimates of state and federal funding; and
WHEREAS, this updated financing plan reduces both the Town's and VDOT's funding obligations for
this project; and
WHEREAS, an administrative agreement is required to enable VDOT to proceed with completion of
the project;
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Lees burg in Virginia that the Town
Manager is authorized to execute the attached Town/VDOT Administrative Agreement for the Battlefield
Parkway (Kincaid Boulevard to Route 7) project.
