CHIMOLE Celebrates Grand Opening on August 18, 2012
Town welcomes Honduran Ambassador to downtown Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (August 16, 2012) – At 5:30pm, on
Saturday, August 18, 2012, Town of Leesburg officials
will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand
opening of CHIMOLE at 10 South King Street in
historic downtown Leesburg. Leesburg Mayor
Kristen C. Umstattd will officiate. The grand opening
event is scheduled from 5pm-7pm and will feature
traditional Honduran cuisine and dancers. The
Honduran Ambassador to the United States, Jose
Ramon Hernandez Alcerro, is expected to attend.
CHIMOLE is an art gallery specializing in the heritage, unique art and cultural traditions of
Honduras. The gallery features pottery made by the indigenous Lencan people of Honduras,
visual art and paintings, hand-crafted gifts made of recycled and eco-friendly products.
Additionally, the gallery will host private events featuring authentic Honduran cuisine.
Owner Yovanna Rizer describes CHIMOLE as “a cultural experience that brings the best of
Honduras to downtown Leesburg with a unique art gallery that promotes Honduran art, culture
and tradition.”
“CHIMOLE offers a fascinating glimpse into Honduran culture through its art. The gallery is a
perfect addition to our arts and cultural district,” said Economic Development Manager
Marantha Edwards. “We are delighted to welcome Yovanna and Ambassador Alcerro to
Leesburg.”
