HomeMy Public PortalAbout2007_09_11_r127 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED September 11. 2007 ADOPTED September 11. 2007 RESOLUTION NO. 2007-127 A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $15,308.50 RESULTING FROM FUNDS NOT EXPENDED FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT IN THE PREVIOUS FISCAL YEAR. WHEREAS, community development and recreation are important elements of Leesburg's Town Plan and Town Council's vision; and WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department currently coordinates a variety of summer camps and other recreational programs for children living in Leesburg; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to fund the Camp Scholarship Project for low to moderate income families to enroll their children in Leesburg-based summer camps; and WHEREAS, the CDBG program has a cost-reimbursement method of payment that requires the Town to expend funds which are then reimbursed by the Loudoun County CDBG program; and WHEREAS, the funds awarded to the Camp Scholarship Project were not expended in the previous fiscal year. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. The FY 2008 Budget is hereby amended, and an appropriation is made in the amount of$15,308.50 for the fiscal year beginning July 1,2007 and ending June 30, 2008. -2- A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $15,308.50 RESULTING FROM FUNDS NOT EXPENDED FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT IN THE PREVIOUS FISCAL YEAR SECTION II.
