HomeMy Public PortalAbout2007_10_23_r154 The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: October 23.2007 ADOPTED: October 23. 2007 RESOLUTION NO. 2007-154 A RESOLUTION : INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE LEES BURG ZONING ORDINANCE REGARDING HOME OCCUPATIONS WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to provide appropriate home occupation uses and standards in residential districts in the Town of Leesburg; and WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent of Town Council to consider the possibility ofpennitting an employee who is not a resident of the dwelling as a component of home occupation uses; and WHEREAS, consideration ofthese amendments will enhance the effectiveness of the existing Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice require the proposed amendments; and THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance are hereby initiated and referred to the Planning Commission to establish appropriate definitions, regulations and standards regarding employees for home occupation uses. SECTION II. The Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing to consider these amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, and report its recommendation to the Town Council pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended.
