ARESOLUTION:
APPROVING A W ARD OF A CONTRACT TO NEW WORLD
SYSTEMS, INC. FOR SOFTWARE AND SERVICES FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMPUTER AIDED DI SP A TCH
AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN THE AMOUNT OF
$831,835.00.
WHEREAS, the Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System
replacement is an approved project in the FY 2008; and
WHEREAS, the purchasing laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia allow jurisdictions to
purchase off of existing properly executed contracts by other jurisdictions within the
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, the Town ofVienna has executed such a contract with New World Systems,
Inc.; and
WHEREAS, a committee of Police Department staff selected the N ew World Systems,
Inc. product as the best system for the Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management
Systems; and
WHEREAS, adequate funds have been appropriated by Council in the FY 2008 budget to
fund this project; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police recommends approval of this information systems
contract in the amount of$831,835.00.
THEREFORE, RESOL VED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby
authorizes the Town Manager to execute a contract with New World Systems, Inc. in the amount
of $831 ,835.00 in a form approved by the Town Attomey and ChiefPurchasing Officer.
