ARESOLUTION: APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 2008 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET, AND MAKING APPROPRIA TIONS FOR
$22,560.96 A W ARDED THROUGH A DEPARTMENT OF
JUSTICE 2006 TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice under its Fiscal Year 2006
budget has awarded a grant to the Leesburg Police Department in the amount of $69,065;
and
WHEREAS the Leesburg Police Department has identified specific equipment
purchases approved by the Department of Justice to enhance the Police Department' s
effectiveness by equipping certain patrol units with in car computers and in car video
cameras; and
WHEREAS the Leesburg Police Department has already fulfilled the computer
purchase and has obtained an extension from the Department of Justice for the use of the
remaining $22,560.96 for the in-car camera purchase.
THEREFORE, RESOL VED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The FY 2008 General Fund Budget is hereby amended and an
appropriation is made in the amount of $22,560.96 for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
2007 and ending June 30, 2008, as follows to include the adjusted totals to the categories
and accounts of the funds listed below:

a. From the Department of Justice, Technology Assistance Grant $22,560.96 is
received and appropriations of $22,560.96 are made to the Police Department
FY 2008 budget for the purchase of equipment to improve and enhance the
Police Department's effectiveness.
