MINUTES
Members present: Bob Snyder, Eric Sonnett, Jane Moran, Mike Resteghini, Gary Trendel
Members absent: Jeff Barnes, Ken Parker, John Coutinho
Associate members present: Dave O’Brien, Barry Rosenbloom
Other Hopkinton citizens present: Brad Verrecchia
Meeting Chair: Mike Resteghini
1. Follow up on town meeting: Nothing new from last meeting.
2. Wyckoff parcel and signage: Dave talked about his walk down the Wyckoff trail segment,
and back, from Granite Street. He found it to be a safe and actively used trail. Jane showed
some signage examples to prohibit trespassing on the private property at the end of the
Wyckoff segment and to inform Granite Street enterers that there is no other exit. She
indicated that there is an “official language” for these types of signs. Nevertheless, some
members suggested wording changes that would improve the grammar in the admonitions.
Jane pointed out that the DPW would most likely create and install these signs. Eric
suggested that we get an official advisory from a town official regarding the extent of our
(UCTC) liability on this property.
3. Neighborhood outreach: We are waiting on the Conway School team for direction on this
initiative.
4. Conway School update: Jeff made a slide presentation to the Board of Selectmen that
included a summary of the Conway team’s progress. Jeff emailed this slide presentation to
UCTC members.
5. Conway report posting: Barry will work with the town manager’s office to get the Phase 1
report posted on the town website.
6. Friends of UCTC: Barry suggested that Jeff’s slides be made available to Ray for subsequent
Friends meetings.
7. Polo shirts: Mike has ordered 50 shirts and will bring the invoice to our next meeting. We
will try to pay this bill before July 1.
8. Center Trail plaques and pedestals for 300th Anniversary: Deferred until Jeff is present to
walk us through the idea and the expenditure.
9. UCTC meeting schedule: Members agreed to revisit the matter of the best weekday meeting
night at a subsequent meeting this summer.
10. Eagle Scout project: Jane described the Elmwood Farm walking trails and the approximate
location of the proposed bridge.
11. Bob’s “jump-start” proposal: Bob has submitted the proposal to the Conway team. Jordan
Clark responded that they would review it and get back with their comments.
12. Treasurer’s statement: Jane is waiting to hear from the town accountant about the position
that we created and voted her into at the previous meeting.
13. Draft minutes of 5/20/15 meeting: Approved unanimously.
