Members present: Ebert,Jenness, Enneking,Schmillen, and Frangione. Also present,Alyssa Herbold by
phone, Cameron Rassel, Gina Rassel, Yvonne Moats,Shannell Kasner,Tim Holmes, Doug Dreckman
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Schmillen, seconded by Frangione to approve Resolution #22-29, "Resolution Approving Lease
Agreement Concerning the Marcus Golf Course"Ayes:Jenness, Enneking,Schmillen, Frangione. Nayes: none.
Abstain: Ebert. Motion carried.
Motion by Ebert, seconded by Enneking to approve Resolution#22-30, "Resolution Setting Salaries for
Appointed Officers and Employees of the City of Marcus, Iowa July 2022-June 2023"All ayes. Nayes: none.
Motion carried.
Motion by Enneking, seconded by Schmillen to table Resolution#22-31, "Resolution Approving Amended
Covenants to Country View Subdivision—First Addition to Marcus Iowa"
Planning and Zoning Commissioner Doug Dreckman presented to the Council a variance request for a gin bin
gazebo for Cameron and Gina Rassel. The variance was approved by the Board of Adjustments at a June 14th,
2022, meeting.
Motion by Schmillen,seconded by Frangione to send variance back to the Board of Adjustments to
reconsider. All ayes. Nayes: none. Motion carried.
Council has requested the Planning and Zoning meet to review the Zoning Ordinance for accessory buildings.
Mayor Bunt told the Council that himself, Doug Dreckman, and Robin Harvey met with Carbon Solutions to
discuss using Marcus's water and wastewater systems at their new plant. After looking at their supply need
and the City's capabilities Carbon Solutions has withdrawn interest in moving forward with the City of
Marcus's water supply.
Motioned by Schmillen,seconded by Frangione to adjourn.All ayes. Nayes: none. Motion carried.Time: 8:25
