AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
BROWNSFIELD ASSESSMENT GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownsfield Assessment Grant Program has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to assist with the costs associated with expenses to perform environmental assessments of the corridor where the connecting
section of the Whitewater Gorge Trail and Cardinal Greenway trail will run; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownsfield Assessment Grant Program to assist with
the costs associated with expenses to perform environmental assessments of the corridor where the connecting section of the Whitewater Gorge Trail and Cardinal Greenway trail will
run.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000.00) Dollars.
3. Said Funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond of Richmond, shall be appropriated for assistance with the costs associated with expenses to perform environmental assessments
of the corridor where the connecting section of the Whitewater Gorge Trail and Cardinal Greenway trail will run.
Passed and adopted this 2nd day of December, 2002, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
