HomeMy Public PortalAbout2008_04_22_r062 Requesting Joint Meeting with BOS The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: April 22. 2008 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-62 ADOPTED: April 22. 2008 A RESOLUTION: REQUESTING JOINT MEETINGS BETWEEN THE LOUDOUN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AND THE LEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Leesburg Town Council desires to meet with the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors to discuss services supported by both County and Town Taxpayers; and WHEREAS, it is of mutual interest to define the appropriate service and funding relationship for a variety of services; and WHEREAS, it is the goal of Council to achieve a funding relationship that eliminates or minimizes double-taxation on Town residents; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of Council to create positive service relationships between the County and the Town to the mutual benefit of all taxpayers. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that it is a priority of Council to meet with the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors as soon as possible with agendas focusing on the appropriate service and funding relationship between the County and Town for critical services such as the Ida Lee Recreation Center, Leesburg Executive Airport, School Resource Officers, Thomas Balch Library, the Volunteer Fire Department, Affordable Dwelling Units (ADD), Excessive Occupancy, and non-profit organizations.
