A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE APPLICATIONS
FOR FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION AND VIRGINIA
DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION GRANTS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL
DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED IN CONNECTION WITH
ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY ON THE SOUTHWEST SIDE OF THE
AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Land Acquisition - Airport Expansion Southwest Side of Airport project is
an identified capital project in the Town's FY 2009-2013 Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, acquisition of the property using Federal and State funding will require
environmental documentation in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act; and
WHEREAS, the Town is eligible for both a Federal Aviation Administration grant and a
Virginia Department of Aviation grant for these environmental services.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The Town Council requests the Federal Aviation Administration and the
Virginia Department of Aviation to provide funding for required environmental documentation
servIces.
SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to execute any and all documents associated
with the grant applications.
