HomeMy Public PortalAbout2008_05_28_R082 Civic Signs The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: May 28. 2008 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-82 ADOPTED: May 28, 2008 A RESOLUTION: CIVIC SIGNS WHEREAS, the Town Council is supportive of the civic organizations in Leesburg, and WHEREAS, it is the Council's desire to support a venue for a display of signs that meets the legal requirements for civic sign display; and WHEREAS, the Town Council will reimburse the civic organizations to the extent that the Town provide for the replacement of the four (4) sign structures that were removed by the Town in December 2005 for a total amount not to exceed $2,500; and WHEREAS, the maintenance ofthe signs and sign structures will be the responsibility of the civic organizations. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. The Town Council directs the Town Manager to work with the local civic organization leaders to determine locations for sign structures in the vicinity of the entrances to Leesburg but not within the public right-of way, on private property. . SECTION II. That the Town Council will reimburse the civic organizations for the replacement of the four (4) sign structures removed December 2005 at a total amount not to exceed $2,500.
