HomeMy Public PortalAbout2008_06_24_R091 Declining Dominion Power's Offer to Purchase Easement The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED June 24. 2008 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-91 ADOPTED June 24. 2008 A RESOLUTION: DECLINING DOMINION POWER'S OFFER TO PURCHASE AN 80 FOOT EASEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE POWER LINE WHEREAS, the Town Council has been requested by Dominion Power to sell an 80 foot easement to Dominion for the construction of the power line; and WHEREAS, the Council has been offered a price of$2,388.65 for the purchase of the easement, and a price of$3,040.10 for the purchase of the easement should a structure be required; and WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that no appraisal has been provided, and that the offer is 110 percent of assessed value and that Dominion will withdraw its offer should it not be accepted by June 30th 2008 and that Dominion will not make next offer until they decide to do so; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is not in the Town's best interest to accept/not accept the offer at this time. THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia: DECLINES DOMINION POWER'S OFFER TO PURCHASE AN 80 FOOT EASEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE POWER LINE.
