A RESOLUTION: MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY
COMMISSION
RESOLUTION: 2008-100
WHEREAS, participation by public-spirited citizens on town boards and commissions is
vital to the success of town government and the democratic process; and
WHEREAS, boards and commissions serve an indispensable role in providing
recommendations concerning town policy and programs; and
WHEREAS, Council desires to appoint effective individuals to serve at its will and
pleasure on these advisory boards; and
WHEREAS, on July 24, 2000, Council adopted Resolution No. 2000-148 establishing a
procedure concerning appointment of individuals to town boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, the terms of four Environmental Advisory Commission members expired on
June 30, 2008.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby
appoints the following to the Environmental Advisory Commission: Gerald Shamla is
reappointed to a term to ending June 30, 2010; Neely Law and Linda Shotton are reappointed to
terms ending June 30, 2012; and Melanie Miles is appointed to a term ending June 30, 2012.
