A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALKS
ON BATTLEFIELD P ARKW A Y IN THE EXETER COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, there are currently no crosswalk on Battlefield Parkway in the Exeter Community;
and
WHEREAS, residents ofthe Exeter Subdivision reported that they do not feel safe using the
existing tunnel under Battlefield Parkway and are currently crossing Battlefield Parkway at various
locations; and
WHEREAS, pedestrian crosswalks on Battlefield Parkway between King Street and the Route 15
Bypass would provide safer conditions to cross Battlefield Parkway.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Town Manager is directed to have the appropriate crosswalks installed on Battlefield
Parkway where staff feels necessary on Battlefield Parkway between King Street and the Route 15
Bypass. Staff should initially focus on the intersections of Battlefield Parkway and Chadfield Way,
Catoctin Circle, Plaza Street and Fieldstone Drive.
