RESOLUTION NO. 2008-124
A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $1,300.00 TO THE
FY 2009 PARKS DEPARTMENT BUDGET RESULTING FORM PRIVATE
DONATIONS MADE TO THE TOWN TO OFFSET THE COST OF
COMPLETING THE VIRGINIA TECH MEMORIAL TREE GROVE WITH A
METAL PLAQUE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg dedicated a memorial tree grove in April 2008 in
memory of those who lost their lives in the tragedy at Virginia Tech one year earlier; and
WHEREAS, the Town has currently received donations totaling $1,300.00 from several
private donors to offset the cost of creating the memorial; and
WHEREAS, the final component of the memorial will be a metal plaque listing the monetary
supporters of the memorial.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council ofthe Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION 1. The FY 2009 budget is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in the
amount of$I,300.00 for the fiscal year beginning July 1,2008 and ending June 30, 2009.
SECTION II. The Parks and Recreation Department budget is amended in the amount of
$1,300.00.
