A RESOLUTION: APPROVING AN APPROPRIATION OF AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$50,000 FOR THE CLOSING OF THE TUNNEL UNDER BATTLEFIELD
P ARKW A Y AT EXETER.
WHEREAS, the Exeter Homeowner's Association has requested that the Tunnel under
Battlefield Parkway at Exeter be closed; and
WHEREAS, the Town's Police Department and Department of Public Works spend
approximately a combined 5 (five) hours per week maintaining and patrolling the Tunnel; and
WHEREAS, a cost estimate was prepared to close the Tunnel for approximately $50,000; and
WHEREAS, $50,000 can be appropriated from the Capital Projects Fund to the Department of
Public Works for closing the Tunnel.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION 1. The FY 2009 Capital Projects Fund is hereby amended and an appropriation is
made in the amount of $50,000 to the Department of Public Works.
SECTION II. The FY 2009 Department of Public Works Budget is hereby amended in the
amount of $50,000.
