Wolf Furniture Celebrates Grand Opening
on September 18, 2012
New Leesburg store is first Wolf Furniture store in Virginia
Leesburg, VA (August 30, 2012) – At 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, Town of
Leesburg officials will hold a ribbon cutting for the grand opening of Wolf Furniture’s new
Leesburg store at 131 Fort Evans Road NE. Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd will officiate.
The opening of Wolf Furniture’s new location in Leesburg is particularly meaningful for the
Town of Leesburg’s land development team. Last year, the Town received a Virginia Municipal
League Achievement Award for the overhaul of the Town’s land development processes. The
catalyst for the process improvements was Wolf Furniture’s announcement in October 2007
that they were cancelling the construction of their new furniture showroom. Following a
complete reorganization of the Town’s land development process, including the creation of a
new Department of Plan Review, Wolf Furniture came back to the Town in early 2011 with
renewed plans to build a store in Leesburg.
“Wolf Furniture gave us the opportunity to prove that the changes we made to the Town’s land
development process were working,” said John Wells, the Leesburg Town Manager. “We had
received positive feedback about our process from other developers, but to get validation from
someone who can compare the new system with the old is especially rewarding. We’re
delighted to see that process come to fruition with the opening of their new store.”
Wolf Furniture is a family-owned furniture retailer, based in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Founded in
1902, Wolf Furniture has twelve furniture showrooms and one clearance outlet in Pennsylvania,
Maryland and, now, Virginia.
