A RESOLUTION:
A WARDING THE ROUTE 643 WATER TANK CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT
WHEREAS, The Route 643 Water Tank is a funded capital improvement project; and
WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation for construction bids due August 8, 2008, the Town
received three bids:
. Caldwell Tanks, Inc.
$3,372,995
. CB&1 Contractors, Inc.
$3,696,000
. Landmark Structures I, L.P.
$3,486,000
WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated by the Assistant Director of the Department of Capital
Projects Management and the Chief Purchasing Officer in accordance with the Town's Purchasing Policy;
and
WHEREAS, Caldwell Tanks, Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funding is available to award this contract.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Lees burg in Virginia that the Town
Manager is authorized to execute a contract, in a form approved by the Town Attorney, with Caldwell
Tanks, Inc., in the amount of $3,372,995 for the construction ofthis project.
