A RESOLUTION:
APPROVING A $141,881 SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS FY 2009 OPERATING BUDGET FOR
INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTING BY VIRGINIA DOMINION POWER
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has received a cost estimate from Dominion Virginia
Power of $141 ,881 for the installation of street lighting on Battlefield Parkway and Fort Evans Road; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has budgeted $120,000 for developer street lighting in
FY 2009 that is committed for other lighting projects; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation of $141 ,881 is needed to issue a purchase order to
Virginia Dominion Power for street light installation along Battlefield Parkway and Fort Evans Road; and
WHEREAS, the developer of Fort Evans Plaza II has signed a performance agreement with the
Town of Leesburg guaranteeing the installation of the street lights and all other public improvements.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the FY 2009
budget of the Public Works Department is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in the amount of
$141,881 for the fiscal year beginning July 1,2008 and ending June 30, 2009 for installation of street
lighting by Virginia Dominion Power on Battlefield Parkway and Fort Evans Road along the Fort Evans
Plaza II development.
