A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A DESIGN CHANGE ORDER FOR THE BATTLEFIELD
PARKWAY - EDWARDS FERRY ROAD TO FORT EVANS ROAD
PROJECT
WHEREAS, in December 2006, the Town awarded a contract to Kimley-Hom & Associates,
Inc. for $378,000 to provide engineering services for the design of a segment of Battlefield Parkway
between Edwards Ferry Road and Fort Evans Road; and
WHEREAS, the original design contract value has previously been increased to $472,200 due
to changes to the project and additional services requested by the Town; and
WHEREAS, an additional change order is required to extend the project to include widening
of Edwards Ferry Road between Battlefield Shopping Center and Battlefield Parkway and for other
design changes requested by the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Projects Management recommends that this design
change order be approved for the work noted.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized to execute a change order to the contract with Kimley-Hom &
Associates, Inc. in the amount of $209,511.92 for providing the additional design and engineering
services for this project bringing the total design contract to $681,711.92.
