HomeMy Public PortalAbout2008_11_25_R181 Lease with New Life Energy for Bio-Fuel Facility The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: November 25. 2008 RESOLUTION NO.: 2008-181 ADOPTED: November 25. 2008 A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH NEW LIFE ENERGY (NLE) FOR LEASE OF SPACE AT THE WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY (WPCF) FOR GENERATION OF BIO-FUEL FOR USE IN VIRGINIA REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY'S (VRTA) TROLLEY WHEREAS, New Life Energy (NLE) a Virginia based business located in Leesburg has approached the Town and requested lease of space at the Water Pollution control Facility (WPCF) for generation of Bio-Fuel by processing used vegetable oil from restaurants for use in Virginia Regional Transit Authority's (VRT A) Trolley buses; and WHEREAS, this concept is in synch with the EDC's vision of reducing unsightly and eco- unfriendly containers of restaurant oil by creating an environmentally sensitive solution; and WHEREAS, this process will result in cost savings to VRTA by use of this product in lieu of diesel fuel; and WHEREAS, the staff is in full support of this initiative which in our opinion will be beneficial in many fronts. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a lease agreement on a form approved by the Town attorney with NLE for lease of space at the WPCF for a trial period on one year.
