A RESOLUTION:
APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $2,063 TO THE
FY09 BUDGET RESULTING FROM FUNDS NOT EXPENDED FOR THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) IN THE
PREVIOUS FISCAL YEAR
WHEREAS, community development and recreation are important elements of Leesburg's Town
Plan and Town Council vision; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department currently coordinates a
variety of summer camps and other recreational programs for children living in Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded a Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) to fund the Camp Scholarship Project for low to moderate income
families to enroll their children in Leesburg-based summer camps; and
WHEREAS, the CDBG program has a cost-reimbursement method of payment that requires the
Town to expend funds which are then reimbursed by the Loudoun County CDBG program.
WHEREAS, the funds awarded to Camp Scholarship Project were not expended in the previous
fiscal year.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The FY 2009 Budget is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in
the amount of $2,063 for the fiscal year beginning July I, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009.
SECTION II. The Leesburg Department of Parks and Recreation Budget is amended in the
amount of $2,063.
