Leesburg Offers Free Document Shredding to Residents
on Saturday, September 29, 2012
During the event, the Town will collect donations for Loudoun Interfaith Relief
Leesburg, VA (September 7, 2012) – The Town of Leesburg’s Public Works Department will host
its next semiannual free community document shredding event on Saturday, September 29,
2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg. Please note this
shred event will be at a new location. Loudoun County High School is located at 415 Dry Mill
Road SW.
The shredder trucks will be parked in the bus loop between the school building and the football
field. If arriving before 9:00 a.m., please do not block traffic flow into the parking lot, so that
the collection vehicles have access needed to set up and begin shredding at 9:00 a.m.
Residents may bring up to three (3) boxes or bags of documents, each equivalent in size to a
standard file storage box. The event will close promptly at 1:00 p.m. Cars must be in line by
12:45 p.m. to ensure service. For a list of items acceptable for shredding and tips on identity
theft protection, please visit the Town website at www.leesburgva.gov/index.aspx?page=249.
During this shredding event, the Town will once again sponsor a food drive to benefit Loudoun
Interfaith Relief’s food bank. With the start of school and the approach of the holidays, the
need for food bank services increases. Residents are encouraged to bring non-perishable food
items to donate. Participation in the food drive is voluntary – residents do not have to donate
to participate in the shred event. LCHS students will be on hand to assist with the collection of
donations.
