Home My Public Portal About2009_02_10_R019 - Neighborhood Community meeting for Town Plan The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: February 10. 2009 ADOPTED: February 10. 2009 RESOLUTION NO. 2009-019 A RESOLUTION: DIRECTING STAFF TO ESTABLISH A NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY MEETING, IN ORDER TO PRESENT INFORMATION RELATED TO THE TOWN PLAN, AS WELL AS TOWN PLAN AMENDMENT TLTA 2008- 0004, AS IT RELATES TO PARCEL 232- 28-3893 AND A PORTION OF PARCEL 232-38-9290 (ALSO REFERRED TO AS "WATERSIDE"). WHEREAS, the Town Council initiated Town Plan Amendment TL T A 2008- 0004 on September 9,2008 to change the designation of major open space for parcel 232-28-3893 and a portion of parcel 232-38-9290 to Downtown; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the application at its meetings of October 11,2008 and November 5, 2008, and voted 5-0-2 to recommend denial of the amendment; and WHEREAS, the Environmental Advisory Commission reviewed the application at its meeting of October 15,2008, and voted unanimously to support the amendment; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the application at a Public hearing on October 16,2008 and again on November 6,2008, voting 6-0-1 in favor of recommending the application be approved by Town Council; and WHEREAS, the Town Council held a Public Hearing on the item on December 9, 2008 and discussed the item at its meeting of January 27,2009; and THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: -2- A RESOLUTION: DIRECTING STAFF TO ESTABLISH A NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY MEETING, IN ORDER TO PRESENT INFORMATION RELATED TO THE TOWN PLAN, AS WELL AS TOWN PLAN AMENDMENT TL T A 2008- 00004 , AS IT RELATES TO PARCEL 232-28-3893 AND A PORTION OF PARCEL 232-38-9290 (ALSO REFERRED TO AS "WATERSIDE"). SECTION I. Staff of the Town of Leesburg shall organize and conduct a neighborhood community meeting at a future date, in order to discuss information related to the Town Plan. SECTION II. The staff shall present at said neighborhood community meeting, information related specifically to Town Plan Amendment TLTA 2008-0004, and its relevance/effect on to the properties referenced as 232-28-3893 and a portion of parcel 232-38- 9290.
