A RESOLUTION: ENDORSING AND APPROVING THE RESTATED CHARTER
AGREEMENT TO AMEND THE BYLAWS OF THE NORTHERN
VIRGINIA REGIONAL COMMISSION
WHEREAS, in 1944 a commission was created to serve the interests and provide
regional coordination for member Northern Virginia governing bodies, thus the Northern
Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC) was formed; and
WHEREAS, on May 22, 2008, NVRC adopted Resolution 08-23 amending its Bylaws
to require the Mayor or chief elected officer from the governing body or his/her designee to
be the representative to the NVRC; and
WHEREAS, a change to the Bylaws ofNVRC requires concurrence of the governing
bodies of all member governmental subdivisions.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
the restated Charter agreement of the Northern Virginia Regional Commission is hereby
approved and the Mayor is authorized to sign said agreement and any other legal instruments
required by this approval.
