HomeMy Public PortalAbout2009_05_27_R062 - FAA OTA for ILS The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED May 27. 2009 RESOLUTION NO. 2009-062 ADOPTED May 27.2009 A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A REVISED OTHER TRANSACTION AGREEMENT (OTA) WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF SITE GRADING FOR AN INSTRUMENT LANDING SYSTEM FOR RUNWAY 17 WHEREAS, the Leesburg Executive Airport Master Plan adopted on May 11, 2007 identified installation of a new Glide Slope Facility as part of a new Instrument Landing System (ILS) for Runway 17; and WHEREAS, Congressman Frank Wolf has previously obtained funding for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the design, installation and construction of the ILS facility; and WHEREAS, the Town entered into an agreement with the FAA on July 23, 2008 that obligated the FAA to fund $450,000 for the Town to administer design and construction of site grading required for this facility; and WHEREAS, additional funding has been identified by FAA under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which will complete the funding required for the project; and WHEREAS, a revised agreement is required between the Town of Leesburg and FAA to enable completion of the project. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town Manager is authorized to execute the attached Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) for grading required for the Runway 17 Instrument Landing System Grading project.
