A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WRITE-OFF OF
UNCOLLECTIBLE UTILITY BAD DEBT
WHEREAS: The Utility Department needs authorization to write-off uncollectible bad debt,
WHEREAS: Repeated efforts have been attempted by the Utility Department to contact
account holders of the delinquent accounts,
WHEREAS: No efforts have been made to make payments on outstanding delinquent
accounts,
WHEREAS: and it has been determined by the Utility Department that accounts ,can not be
set up to certify to Johnson County, Iowa for collection against property as
allowed by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CODUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA:
to authorize Treasurer to write-off in the amount of $9,332.76 of.uncollectible
bad debt.
Council person Upton introduced Resolution 2013-003 A RESOLUTION -AUTHORIZING
THE WRITE-OFF OF UNCOLLECTIBLE UTILITY BAD DEBT and made motion for
approval and seconded by Council person Ryan.
Aye: Phillips, Upton, Bartels, Ryan, Kahler
Nay: None
. Absent: None
Whereas five Council members voted and approved Resolution 2013-003, Mayor Berner affirms by
his signature the approval of Resolution 2013-01 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WRITE-,
OFF OF UNCOLLECTIBLE UTILITY BAD DEBT.
