A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE LEESBURG ZONING
ORDINANCE TO PERMIT PLACE OF WORSHIP, CHILD
CARE CENTER, AND SCHOOL OF GENERAL EDUCATION
UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, the 2005 Town Plan encourages the adaptive reuse of existing
buildings in the 1-1 District; and
WHEREAS, the 2005 Town Plan encourages a transition from Industrial uses in
the area of Cardinal Park Drive SE and Trailview Boulevard SE; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia adopted Resolution
2009-055 to initiate changes to the 1-1 district to establish a recreational facility as a use
in the 1-1 District subject to specific use standards; and
WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning
practice require the proposed amendments.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
SECTION I. Amendments to Zoning Ordinance are hereby initiated and referred
to the Planning Commission to accommodate appropriate uses in the area of Cardinal
Park Drive SE and Trailview Boulevard SE currently in the 1-1 District to include Place
of Worship, Child Care Center, School of General Education, and Recreation Facility
under certain special exception conditions.

CARE CENTER, AND SCHOOL OF GENERAL EDUCATION
UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS
SECTION II. The Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing to consider
these amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, and report its recommendation to the Town
Council pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as
amended.
