A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS FOR
RELOCATION OF OVERHEAD UTILITIES FOR THE SYCOLIN ROAD
WIDENING PHASE II PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Sycolin Road Widening Phase II project is a funded Capital Project which is financed
through VDOT Revenue Sharing Funds and Loudoun County Gas Tax; and
WHEREAS, the town is required to facilitate the overhead utility relocations; and
WHEREAS, the town has received preliminary estimates from the utility companies for the relocation work;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Town CIP Policies and Procedures, Town Council authorization is
required for the Town to enter agreements that exceed $100,000; and
WHEREAS, the estimates received are above the authorization level ofthe town manager as listed below:

$150,257.00
. Verizon Virginia
$599,766.38; and
WHEREAS, the utility relocation costs are within the existing approved budget and no additional funding is
requested; and
WHEREAS, the utility relocations represent the initial phase of construction and must be completed prior to
beginning the actual roadway improvements.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town Manager is
authorized to execute agreements with NOVEC and Verizon Virginia for relocation of overhead utility lines for the
Sycolin Road Widening Phase II Project.
