Home My Public Portal About2009_07_14_R079 - JAG Grant Appropriation to Gangs Task Force The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED July 14. 2009 ADOPTED July 14. 2009 A RESOLUTION: APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 2010 GENERAL FUND BUDGET, AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR $118,058 A WARDED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE 2009 GRANT TO THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA REGIONAL GANG TASK FORCE RESOLUTION NO. 2009-079 WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice under its Fiscal Year 2009 budget has awarded a grant to the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force which includes specific requirements to enhance the information sharing and Intelligence-Led policing efforts of the Task Force; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force has identified the purchase of 12 software as the best means of fulfilling this requirement; and WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Department is a member of the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force and has volunteered to manage the purchase of this software for the members ofthe Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the FY 2010 General Fund Budget is hereby amended and an appropriation is made in the amount of $118,058 forthe fiscal year beginning July 1,2009 and ending June 30, 2010, as follows to include the adjusted totals to the categories and accounts of the funds listed below: a. From the Department of Justice, Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force Grant $118,058 is received and appropriations of$118,058 are made to the Police Department FY 20108 budget for the purchase of 12 software on behalf of the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force. b. The Town Manager is authorized to purchase, with approval as to form by the Town Attorney, from 12 software, configurations and training for the eligible members of the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force for a price of $118,058. - 2 - A RESOLUTION: APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 2010 GENERAL FUND BUDGET, AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR $118,058 AWARDED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE 2009 GRANT TO THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA REGIONAL GANG TASK FORCE c. The Police Chief is authorized to transfer ownership of the software licenses to the eligible members of the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force.
