APPROVING THE 1996/1997 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The Borough of Carteret has been allocated a grant
n the amount of 88,000.00 from the Middlesex County Housing
:ommunity Development Program for the 1996/1997 Program Year and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on January $1, 1996 to
olicit comments and recommendations from the citizens of the
:orough of Carteret, and;
WHEREAS, the Community Development Board has had the
,pportunity to discuss the proposals with the Mayor and Council
~nd representatives to the Middlesex County Housing and Community
~evelopment Program, and;
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Community Development
~oard that the following programs meet the guidelines of the
;itizens' Participation List of Eligible Activities:
HOUSING REHAB PROGRAM/ADMIN: $51,400.00
VAN DRIVER FOR SENIORS: 7,200.00
SECURITY FOR SENIORS/DRIVER: 10,800.00
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT: 13,600.00
CARTERET PARK IMPROVEMENTS: 5,000.00
WHEREAS, the above programs were unanimously approved by the
:ommunity Development Board at the Public Hearing.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
-HE BOROUGH OF CARTERET hereby consent to the submission of the
ibove named programs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect
.mmediately as provided by law.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on February 16, 1996.
