Town of Leesburg Personal Property Tax Bills
Due October 5, 2012
Residents reminded not to remove permanent decals from vehicles
Leesburg, VA (September 14, 2012) – The Town of Leesburg recently mailed 2012 personal
property tax bills to residents. Payment is due to the Town by October 5, 2012.
Last year, the Town began issuing permanent vehicle decals. Residents are reminded that they
should not remove the permanent decals from their vehicles. In addition to the tax due on
personal property, residents also pay a $25 annual license fee often referred to as the “decal
fee”.
Personal property tax relief is available for one vehicle for the elderly and those permanently
disabled whose net worth does not exceed $195,000 and whose household income does not
exceed $52,000. Applicants need not own real estate to be eligible. To obtain information
about personal property tax relief, please call 703-737-8557 or send an email to
trcor@loudoun.gov.
The Town offers several convenient payment options:
• Mail a check or credit card payment along with the signed bottom stub of the bill to Town
of Leesburg Virginia, P.O. Box 9100, Leesburg, VA 20177-0910. The Town accepts
MasterCard, VISA, and Discover credit cards.
• Use the secure Night Depository Box at any time. The drop box is located outside the Town
Hall, at the corner of Wirt and Market Streets.
• Pay online with an eCheck or credit card. Go to www.leesburgva.gov/payments. Online
payments are processed by Official Payments Corporation. A convenience fee is charged.
• Pay over the phone with eCheck or a credit card by dialing 1-800-272-9829. Use jurisdiction
code 6203 to process the payment. A convenience fee is charged.

• Pay in person at Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
The Town encourages residents to avoid waiting in line at Town Hall by mailing their payments,
paying online or paying by phone. Late payments will be assessed a penalty of 10% on any
unpaid balance. Interest of 10% per annum will be added to any unpaid balance beginning
November 1, 2012.
