A RESOLUTION: RECOMMENDING CANDIDATES FOR VACANCIES ON THE BOARD OF
ZONING APPEALS TO THE CIRCUIT COURT
WHEREAS, members of the Board of Zoning Appeals are appointed by the Chief Judge of the Circuit
Court; and
WHEREAS, the term of John Pumphrey expired December 31, 2009 and Mr. Pumphrey wishes to be
reappointed to serve another term; and
WHEREAS, Karen Stapleton has resigned her term expiring December 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Joseph J. Burke and Elizabeth H. Coomes have expressed an interest in being appointed to
the Board of Zoning Appeals and both are residents of the Town of Leesburg and do not serve on any other
town boards or commissions.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Council recommends that John Pumphrey be appointed to an additional term as a member of the
Board of Zoning Appeals.
2. Council recommends that the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court consider Joseph J. Burke and
Elizabeth H. Coomes for appointment of the remainder of Ms. Stapleton's term to expire
December 31, 2011.
3. The Town Attorney is directed to send Council's recommendation to the Chief Judge of the
Circuit Court.
