A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AMENDMENT N0.2 TO THE EXISTING TOWN/VDOT
ADMINISTRATIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE DOWNTOWN
STREETLIGHT PROJECT
WHEREAS the Town entered into an agreement with the Virginia Department of
Transportation on July 16, 2007 for $200,000 of FY 2006 Transportation Enhancement funds for a
project to replace existing streetlights in portions of the downtown area with more historically
appropriate light fixtures; and
WHEREAS, the Town executed Amendment No. 1 to the agreement on July 14, 2009 to
increase the federal amount of the agreement to $400,000 to reflect additional Transportation
Enhancement funding for FY 2008; and
WHEREAS, the Town applied for additional Transportation Enhancement funding in FY
2009 as authorized by Resolution No. 2008-157; and
WHEREAS, on June 18, 2009, the Virginia Commonwealth Transportation Board
approved FY 2009 Transportation Enhancement funding for the project in the amount of $200,000;
and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Enhancement funding requires a minimum matching
funding from the Town of $150,000 or 20% of the revised total project cost of $750,000 as
outlined below;

ADMINISTRATIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE DOWNTOWN
STREETLIGHT PROJECT
and
WHEREAS, the Town's approved FY 2010 budget includes a total of $210,000 in bond
money in for this project through FY 2010 including prior year funding; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the existing Town/VDOT Administrative Agreement is
necessary for the Town to receive these additional funds.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is authorized to execute the attached Town/VDOT Administrative Agreement
Amendment No. 2 for the Downtown Streetlight Project under the Transportation Enhancement
Program.
