TLCR Architecture -Santiago A. Rozas & Patrick Mulvey-Welch
Mid-size firm with 9 employees. Patrick Mulvey-Welsh who is~ a partner and will
serve as the project manage. The firm was farmed in 1982 and has done a lot of work
doing public educational facilities largely in Massachusetts. Many of their projects
are additions to existing buildings, several are stand-alone structures. They work to
make the space comfortable and pleasant to create an enjoyable environment.
Possible use of paralyzed structure or fabricated systems. They feel that they can
maintain the town's tight schedule. They also have knowledge of managing
construction while school is in session.
They discussed the idea of the connecting corridor intersecting the center of the
buildings. They do recommend reviewing the building program. They presented a
thorough project design schedule that addressed the town's time requirements.
Patrick did mention that the bidding climate is quite good at the moment. TLCR tries
to make buildings very stimulating for the students, by using interesting colors and
shapes.
Turowski• Architecture -Peter Turowski
Peter Turowski, Principal of the firm uses a collaborative approach. While the firm is
only 2 years old they have significant experience with the number of staff that has a
lot of prior experience in other companies. They are a small firm who will have
hands on approach to their projects. They did present a series of design ideas based
upon a site visit this past weekend. They did like the idea of a central access to the
addition. They also mentioned a two story scheme, which might present some
advantages. Solar orientation was also an interesting concept and made a nice
presentation on project estimate versus final cost.
They are currently working on open contract with Bridgewater State College on
facility improvements. They also clearly maintained creating equality relative to the
original structure. Important to look at the proposed program for the additional
proposal.
