A RESOLUTION: APPROVING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S PLAN TO
UTILIZE THE FY10 JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) IN
THE AMOUNT OF $11,936 FOR THE PURCHASE OF
EMERGENCY RESPONSE EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice under its Fiscal Year 2010
budget has awarded a grant allocation to the Town of Leesburg for certain public safety
uses in the amount of $11,936; and
WHEREAS the Leesburg Police Department has identified specific equipment
purchases needed to enhance the Police Department's effectiveness in dealing with
emergency response situations.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
that the plan to utilize the FY10 JAG Award for the purchase of emergency equipment is
approved and the Town Manager and Police Chief are authorized to submit the necessary
applications.
