June 10, 2009
Call to Order
Herb Montgomery called to order the regular meeting of the Brewster Building Needs
& Assessment Committee at 7:30 pm on June 10, 2009 in Brewster Town Hall.
Roll call
The following persons were present: Herb Montgomery, Robert Miller, Charles
Sumner,Richard Kosinski,Paul Bradford, Greg Levasseur, Ed Lewis, Patrick Welch,
Victor Staley
Victor Staley, Brewster's Building commissioner attended the meeting to offer his
support and services for any upcoming building improvement projects, particularly on
the Stony Brook Elementary School addition project.
Patrick Welch from TLCR attended the meeting to finalize the contract negotiations
for architectural services of r the Stony Brook Elementary School addition project.
Mr. Welch presented a budget analysis for a project estimate, design services and
other related costs. Charlie Sumner will develop a letter to proceed and draft contract
by the end of this week. We will have to include language that allows the town to
cancel the contract at anytime, should the negotiations with the Massachusetts School
Building Assistance Program makes the project economically unfeasible. The final
contract execution will be delayed until the return of our Town Accountant/Finance
Director.
Patrick will begin work immediately on the project. Should the project be cancelled
they will bill us for services incurred to date. The town's point of contact will be
Herb Montgomery.
The next committee meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2009 at 7:30 pm.
Golf HVAC project is moving along and will be completed shortly. Victor Staley is
largely satisfied.
Town Hall HVAC project is out to bid. Filed sub-bids are due on June 18 and general
bids are due on June 29, 2009.
The minutes of April 8, June 3 & 4, 2009 were approved unanimously.
