A RESOLUTION: CHANGING THE SPEED LIMIT ON FORT EVANS ROAD FROM 25
MPH TO 35 MPH BETWEEN ROUTE 15 BYPASS AND VISTA
RIDGE DRIVE
WHEREAS, permanent changes to speed limits on Town controlled roads in Leesburg
must be made by action of the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department conducted a traffic engineering investigation
to evaluate the current speed limit on Fort Evans Road and concluded that the speed limit should
be increased from 25 MPH to 35 MPH between the Route 15 Bypass and Vista Ridge Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department and Leesburg Police Department both support
this change.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The speed limit on Fort Evans Road between Route 15 Bypass and Vista
Ridge Drive shall be 35 MPH.
SECTION II. The Town Manager shall direct Town staff to install the appropriate speed
limit signs established by this resolution.
