Home My Public Portal About2010_06_22_R067 Battlefield Pkwy Construction Contract to HittThe Town of ~~~~~9~~"~~ RESOLUTION NO. 2010- 067 PRESENTED June 22.2010 ADOPTED June 22, 2010 A RESOLUTION: AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE FINAL PHASE OF THE BATTLEFIELD PARKWAY PROJECT FROM EDWARDS FERRY ROAD TO FORT EVANS ROAD TO HITT CONTRACTING, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,800,930.60 WHEREAS, the Battlefield Parkway Project from Edwards Ferry Road to Fort Evans Road is a fully funded capital improvement project; and WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation for construction bids of the Battlefield Parkway Project from Edwards Ferry Road to Fort Evans Road, the Town received six bids on June 15, 2010, from the following firms: • Hitt Contracting, Inc. $3,800,930.60 • General Excavation, Inc. $3,964,638.70 • Ardent Company, LLC $4,121,712.71 • Tessa Construction & Tech Company LLC $4,207,833.33 • Perry Engineering $4,378,601.49 • American Infrastructure $4,548,903.85; and WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated by the Deputy Director of the Department of Capital Projects Management and the Chief Purchasing Officer in accordance with the Town's Purchasing Policy; and WHEREAS, Hitt Contracting, Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, this is a unit price contract and the estimated quantities multiplied by the unit price have established the not to exceed contract price; and WHEREAS, change order procedures are detailed in the bid specifications; and WHEREAS, no additional funding is needed to award this contract. -2- A RESOLUTION: AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE FINAL ~ PHASE OF THE BATTLEFIELD PARKWAY PROJECT FROM ~ EDWARDS FERRY ROAD TO FORT EVANS ROAD TO HITT CONTRACTING, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,800,930.60 THEREFO ,RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town Manager is au horized to execute a contract, in a form approved by the Town Attorney, with Hitt Contracting, Inc in the amount of $3,800,930.60 for the construction of the Battlefield Parkway Project from Edwards Ferry Road to Fort Evans Road.
