RESOLUTION NO. 2010-068 ADOPTED July 22, 2010
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A DISCOUNT OFF ADMISSION TO IDA LEE PARK
RECREATION CENTER FOR ACTIVE MEMBERS OF THE LEESBURG
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND LEESBURG VOLUNTEER
RESCUE SQUAD, AND FREE ADMISSION TO MEMBERS ONLY, WHILE
ON DUTY
WHEREAS, volunteers of the Leesburg Fire and Rescue Squad Units currently receive a
20% discount off admission to Ida Lee Park Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, the respective discount applies only to the volunteer, and not to the
volunteer's family, and does not apply to volunteers outside the Leesburg Fire and Rescue Units;
and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends maintaining the current
20% discount off the daily admission, and creating a tiered discount structure to incentivize pass
purchases to Ida Lee Park Recreation Center for the respective volunteer, while also continuing the
practice of complimentary use while on active-duty; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission unanimously
endorsed the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Director.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
following discounted policy for use of Ida Lee Park Recreation Center applies to members of the
Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department and Leesburg Volunteer Rescue Squad:
SECTION I. Complimentary use of the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center while actually on-
duty, with exception of court fees for racquetball use and fee-based programs.

TO MEMBERS ONLY, WHILE ON DUTY
SECTION II. A 20% discount off daily admission to the facility, when not on duty, and
the following tiered discount:
Pass Purchases Discount
1 - 5 20%
6 - 20 33%
21 - 30 50%
31+ 66%
SECTION III. Discount and complimentary use of the facility applies to the individual
member only and does not apply to his/her family members.
SECTION IV. Volunteers must be recognized as an active member with their respective
organization at the time of purchase.
SECTION V. Discount and complimentary use of the facility does not apply to volunteer
units outside of Leesburg.
