July 22, 2009
I. Call to order
Bob Miller called to order the special meeting of the Town of Brewster: Building Needs &
Assessment Committee at 7:30pm on July 22, 2009 in Brewster Town Hall.
II. Roll call
The following BNAC members were present: Bob Miller, Herb Montgomery, Paul Bradford, Greg
Lavasseur and Rich Kosinski.
Stony Brook school representatives included: Dr. Ann Carretti, Don Schober, Dennis Hanson,
Daniel Guertin, Denise Fronius and David Telman
TLCR Architects representatives included: Patrick Welch and Nick Deveau
III. Open issues
a) Stony Brook School addition
- TLCR presented final elevations & footprints. This final draft will be known as Scheme
J, which will encompass 11,800 square feet.
- An expansion joint will be included in the connector; this joint will be used to delineate
the existing structure from the new addition for the purposes of fire safety.
- School reps asked TLCR to provision the design for security /surveillance measures.
- Representatives from the Stony Brook School asked the BNAC for additional lead time
regarding notifications. More time to review Scheme J, prior to this meeting, would have
been appreciated.
- Denise Fronius was asked to begin to realize interior facets of the new addition:
whiteboards, tack boards, windows in doors, computer stations, etc.
b) Town Hall -HVAC replacement
- New plans for HVAC design are due from RISE engineering.
IV. New business
None presented at this time.
V. Adjournment
Bob Miller adjourned the meeting at 9:00 pm.
