Norman Adams distributes copies of the draft minutes of the meeting of Tuesday 7 July 2009, as well as copies of the approved and subsequently filed minutes of the meeting of Tuesday 2 June 2009. A motion is made by Walter Powers and seconded by Janet Husband to approve the minutes of the meeting of Tuesday 7 July 2009 as presented. The vote to accept is unanimous. Larry Greeley reviews the state of the procurement of the equipment for the government channel. At present three bids have been received. There are five more days until the bidding closes. Larry reviews the current state of the negotiations with Comcast. As usual the negotiations seem to be going less rapidly than we would like. Regarding a topic somewhat related to the prime charge of this committee, Larry mentions that he has experimental evidence concerning the length of time that the emergency power supply for the equipment between the Comcast high-speed network and the subscriber's telephone equipment used in the Comcast telephone service supports that telephone service when the house power fails. In this specific case the power from the emergency power supply failed to support that telephone service after 18 minutes, which is considerably shorter than the expected duration of a few hours at the least. There is some general discussion concerning possibly applicable engineering standards and requirements for the Comcast network. By general agreement the next meeting of the Brewster Cable TV Advisory Committee will be on the regular schedule, to wit, on Tuesday 1 September 2009 at the usual time and place. The meeting seems to be out of other business to be taken up tonight. A motion to adjourn is made by Janet Husband and seconded by Walter Powers. The motion is passed unanimously. The meeting is adjourned at 8:29 pm. Q,~_ ~l,~irc. ~ ./Z- Submitted by Norman Adams, Clerk, Brewster CTVAC ~'~ ";il, ,: C] ~1U,`r !,
