A RESOLUTION: SOUTH KING STREET WIDENING PROJECT CHANGE ORDER NO. 14
FOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the South King Street Widening Project is a funded capital project; and
WHEREAS, the Town awazded a contmct to Paciulli Svnmons & Associates in October 1999 in
the amount of $36Q,664.10 to provide design and engineering services for the widening of South King
Street from Evergreen Mill Road to just south of the corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, the original design contract value has previously been increased to $843,909.35 due
to changes to the project and additional services requested by the Town; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 14 in the amount of $ ] S 1,086.60 is required in order to complete
necessary revisions associated with storm water management modifications to preserve trees in
Greenway Farms, intersection access alternatives at Linden Hill, and additional test pits to avoid utiliTy
conflicts; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 14 increases the modified design contract amount by more than
the allowable 26% or $50,000, whichever is greater, as allowed by the Virginia Public Procurement Act
and [he CIP Policies and Procedures Manual; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Projects Management recommends that this design
change order be approved.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town
Manager is authorized to execute Change Order No. 14 [o the contract with Paciulli Simmons &
Associates in the amount of $151,086.50 for providing the additional design and engineering services
for the South King Street Widening project for a revised design contract total of $994,995.85.
