A RESOLUTION: VIRTS CORNER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CHANGE ORDER NO. 5 FOR
DEISGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, [he Virts Comer hnprovement Project is a funded capital project and
WHEREAS, the Town awarded a contract to Paciulli Simmons & Associates in March 2007 in the
amount of $BI,Sg0.00 to provide engineering services for the re-design of the V iris Comer intersection; and
WHEREAS, [he original design contract has previously been increased to $123,495.00 due to changes
to the project and additional services requested by the Town; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 5 in the amount of $43,765 is required in order [o complete necessary
revisions associated with survey maps, storm water management, entryway sign, and [he traffic management
plan; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 5 increases [he modified design contmc[ amount by more than the
allowable 25°/ or $50,000, whichever is greater, as allowed by the Virginia Public Procurement Act and [he
CIP Policies and Procedures Manual; and
WHEREAS, the Deparhnent of Capital Projects Management recommends [hat this design change
order be approved.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town
Manager is authorized [o execute Change Order No. 5 [o the contract with Paciulli Simmons & Associates in
[he amount of $43,765.00 for providing the additional design and engineering services for [he V irts Corner
Improvement project for a revised design contract total of $167,260.00.
